The Spring Creek Pedestrian Bridge project started in the Fall of 2012. The location of the project made it especially difficult. The project was located in the George Mitchell Nature preserve between Harris and Montgomery Counties. The 70 ft x 80 ft bridge had to be carried 3/4 of a mile through thick forest to the job site. Also the 10 yards of concrete had to be brought in by equipment because of the non-access for concrete trucks. This project consisted of:
- Excavation for abutments
- Helical anchor installation, forming and pouring abutments in place
- Delivery of the 70 ft x 8 ft bridge 3/4 of a mile through preserve
- Installation of the bridge, backfill and slope paving
- Installation of 3 inch diameter by 20 ft long pipe along path. Provided with cement stabilized sand compacted and concrete slope paving
